current state of play

Welcome to the Travellers Box UK blog, where you will find news on current and upcoming work with the project in the UK as well as links to other co curators' blogs and sites, and information about the artists involved.

In the coming year, the box plans to travel to Scotland, London, possibly Bristol and who knows where else...? I'll be updating as the itinerary unfolds. The box is currently with TangentProjects, who are completing their work on Liminopia, a fantasy city created from various, mostly found, objects.

About the project

The Travellers Box project is an artistic discourse between artists, whereby both analysis and production play a part. Its foundation rests on the notion of collaboration in that individual artists’ viewpoints, thoughts and interactions with the Box, combine with the relationships that develop because of it, and manifest themselves in various forms.

Originated in Denmark, the boxes have travelled to several countries over the past 5 years, including the UK, USA, Germany, Sweden and Norway, where a series of artists have taken part in various forms of the project. One of the objectives is to expand on this growing international network, via artists collaborating directly (having the box and making work with it) and via those artists connecting with others also involved in the project, both in their own and in other countries.
